Replacement decision in brief
For a gear or rotary pump replacement quotation, send the make and model, operating speed, nameplate and installation photos, measured duty, liquid properties, piping route and maintenance history. Add available air pressure and capacity, cleaning requirements and the planned shutdown. This allows a complete system assessment rather than a guess based on nominal connection size.
Describe the product and performance
Provide product identity, temperature range, density, viscosity with test conditions, concentration and solids or crystal information. State average and peak throughput and whether the downstream process needs a steady flow or accepts cyclic delivery. Include product-quality requirements such as crystal preservation or limits on aeration.
Draw the route and list the utilities
Show source and receiver elevations, pipe lengths, bore, bends and major valves. State receiving pressure, level range and venting. Provide minimum dynamic compressed-air pressure, available flow, air-quality requirement and electrical supply. Include cleaning and heating utilities where applicable.
Define the supply and acceptance boundaries
Specify whether the scope includes the common skid, air treatment, receiver separation, interconnecting pipework, control interfaces and installation supervision. Identify the destination and required pressure-equipment documentation. Agree the factory and site tests, product-trial needs and who will approve the results.
Add the commercial context
State the project stage, delivery destination, target schedule and preferred trade terms. Attach existing drawings and failure records when replacing another pump. Explain which data are measured and which are provisional. A well-prepared enquiry enables a technical proposal with visible assumptions, options and exclusions, making it much easier to compare suppliers and move toward an approved design.
General engineering guidance. Numerical examples are illustrative; project specifications and acceptance criteria are agreed for the actual duty.
