The pressure difference does the work
A pressure-vessel transfer system receives liquid into a closed vessel and then uses gas pressure above the liquid to drive it through an outlet. The available pressure must overcome the receiving-tank pressure, elevation difference and losses in the complete route. The vessel is therefore one part of a system that also includes valves, air preparation, instruments, controls and a suitable receiving arrangement. There is no rotating pumping element inside the transfer vessel.
Four stages, with defined permissions
During filling, the vessel needs a route for displaced gas and permission from the upstream process. The inlet then closes and its status is checked before transfer begins. Compressed air drives the product through the discharge route. At the end of discharge, the system isolates the air and manages residual pressure before the next fill. Exact valve overlap, vent behavior and endpoint detection belong in the approved sequence; an explanatory animation is not a commissioning procedure.
What changes when two vessels are used
A second vessel allows one to receive product while the other transfers. Cycle coordination can keep an upstream process accepting material, provided the fill and discharge times are compatible. It does not automatically produce constant instantaneous outlet flow. A receiving buffer may still be needed where the downstream process has tight flow requirements.
What to include in the first enquiry
Provide the product name, minimum and maximum temperature, viscosity at those temperatures, density, solids content, target average and peak flow, pipe route and available compressed air. Include the receiving-tank pressure and its vent capacity. These inputs establish whether the principle suits the duty before vessel size or control details are selected. A photograph of the current installation is useful, but a dimensioned route sketch is more useful for engineering.
General engineering guidance. Numerical examples are illustrative; project specifications and acceptance criteria are agreed for the actual duty.
